JOHN EDWARDS ILL?

Categories:

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards is reportedly ill.

A federal judge disclosed last Friday that Edwards supposedly has a life-threatening heart condition, which will delay his criminal corruption trial beyond its scheduled start this month.

Edwards and his attorneys met with a federal judge in a North Carolina courtroom Friday afternoon to seek a delay. But some in the media are starting to question the validity of Edwards' "doctor's note," wondering if it reflects a legitimate health concern, or is more of a junior high "please excuse Becky from gym class" type stall tactic. Oddly, Edwards' note says his condition is severe enough to delay the trial, but not so life-threatening as to need attention right now. Based on that information, Judge Catherine Eagles rescheduled the trial for no earlier than March 26th.

John Edwards was the Democratic vice-presidential nominee under John Kerry in 2004 and sought the Democratic nomination for president himself in 2008.  Edwards was charged with diverting campaign funds to Rielle Hunter, a woman who he was having an extra-marital affair with and fathered a child with.  Edwards' wife Elizabeth divorced him, before dying of cancer in 2010.

Never liked this guy. This so-called "man-of-the-people" has always seemed like a rather slimy fella, to me.

When he ran for President, I kept thinking to myself_if Edwards wins the nomation the Dems WILL regret it. I would've been forced to set out the general election because there was no way I was voting for Edwards.

Regarding his health: The *timing* (if not the diagnosis itself) of this supposed "life-threatening" illness is suspect to say the least. We do know that Edwards will LIE his rear-end off to get what he wants OR DOESN'T want. Suffice to say, the last thing he wants to deal with is a trial.
